So far tracking my food is going well, in that I am actually tracking it. There is something about seeing it all in print, numbers and all. I know some find that obsessive but I make way better choices when I see the factual reality of my choices.

And I really need to change my little pic on the left. I don't look like that anymore with my grayish hair.

The crazy hot weather is also interfering with my exercise a bit too. I work third shift and monday I went to the gym right after work and did stronglifts.
Qfbrenda, I remember you too, welcome back.
L'Beille, it's great that you are making such positive changes for your health. I hope your rehab appt goes really well. The exercise will come around. It takes a little time to make changes.
Anne, I hope you are feeling better.
Runcarla, you are a fitness inspiration as always.

Welcome back qfBrenda! (I remember you well, of course)

Not super good here. The weather has been so cold I've been forgoing my morning weigh ins - but did so today. Predictibly my weight has gone up. Predictible because I not only have had several meals out recently, and family celebrations for DDs birthday, but have also been much less controlled about eating and much more hungry in general. I blame it on the (to us in Australia!) cold weather.

I've also had a cold, and several bad headaches.

Exercise has also been pretty minimal, apart from my last personal training session at the gym. I'd been skipping seeing the physio too, but finally went back today, and have a good plan, with lots of exercise, going forward.

So so week in a not so great month. Am keeping active and I find I do better if I do my exercises in the morning. Lots going on--but I do see a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm eating better, but still too much. I promise a better report next week.

DS#2 was insisting I should keep an exercise journal to track progress, in particular with my weight training. This weekend I crunched 27 weeks of numbers and came up with the following:

-7 hours of fitness activities per week (with the exception of 1 week sick during which I did nothing, I managed between 3 hours minimum to 9 hours maximum in a week)

The average week broke down as follows:

-1 hr bike (24 k per week)
-1 hr swim (2000 metres)
-2 hrs run (15 k per week)
-2 hrs weight training
-1 hr yoga

These are just the averages because though I might bike for an hour and do 24 k, I'm more likely to do 3 runs of 5k, and my regular yoga class is 90 min. and the average weight training session is a little more than an hour.

I have recently dropped to one weight training session per week (vs 2-3) in order to get 2 bike sessions in. I just need to get in a second swim session, and I'll be happy with my summer routine.

With a big event in a couple of weeks, I'm eschewing wine, but I've been into the ice cream.

I go to yoga 5 times a week and walk Sam daily. I also shop with clients for a living. I'm active!

I had cake three times on Saturday (my birthday), and dessert at night too. Life is good.

I'm weaning myself off weight watchers now I'm at a weight I'm happy with. My membership expires in a month.
I always have problems with digestion and my dr suggested a fod map approach. She also asked me to consider giving up red wine and dark chocolate....what? Coffee is ok apparently but not tea for sensitive tummies. She also said Salad was harder to digest. I don't eat wheat or much dairy but eat cheese which I love...it's hard to give up all this stuff.
I'm still walking about one hour a day which I really enjoy. And I'm working closer to home in a much nicer environment...got to be good for my health eh.

Since I had the small heart attack a month ago I have been super diligent about tracking my food intake and staying within targets for calories and macros; no sugar no salt no dairy fats and no red meat. Fortunately my husband has decided to join me in at least some of the dietary modifications. Also two of my daughters have been around a lot and they have helped a lot with cooking and other stuff.

I haven't been quite as faithful with the exercise end of it. I have been doing two walks a day, starting with 5 minutes and now up to 30 for some of them. Most are either on the beach or on the boardwalk in the waterfowl park. Then the weekend was so cold and rainy I just couldn't motivate myself off the couch with book and blanket. I am off to redeem myself after this post... Tomorrow though I go for my intake assessment with the cardiac rehab program, which will have me on a treadmill for an hour, supervised, twice a week.

I'll try to be accountable here.

I have been doing Yoga 5 times a week. My walking is not going as well. My feet are bothering me and my dog is having a lot of problems. I also find it very hard to do anything when it is hot outside. However I did do some walking so I will focus on the positive.
I need to really work on the walking because I can feel the effects of not doing it.
Eating is fine.

It is amazing that posting my stop eating at 9pm goal (and putting it in my calendar) made such a difference. I feel more balanced around eating and I am losing weight.
I swam twice and walked once. I meant to walk yesterday but forgot. I'm going to write it on my calendar. Having my phone go off at 8:30 and 9 helps me with the stop eating. It may be easier because it is an everyday goal.
After reading Shevia's thread about Parisian style I've been working on my posture.
Now here's one that's making me nauseous to post, so we'll see-Leaving the rest of the house by midnight to go get ready for bed. This assumes I'm home and not out.

Last week was crazy-hot and my exercise suffered for it. I ended up with an irunurun score of 58, as opposed to the 97 of the week before. At temps over 95 or 100°, the AC can't keep up and all I want to do is sit.

This week looks to be ever-so-slightly cooler (low 90s instead of high 90s) and I'm already on track to do better. And next week will be even better, as we're headed up to the mountains for a few days of hiking and hot springs.

Exercise was ok, 2 stronglifts 2 Krav Maga. I'm still working out my program. I want to get in 3 of each.
Food was good. I've been on my fitness pal and tracking my fitness for one month. The only change I've made was that I stuck with the calorie recommendation they gave me, which was 1200. They use the NEAT formula, which allows you to eat back some of your exercise calories. Some of the things I've noticed that I'm kinda high in sugar and low in protein. My goal this month is to up the protein.
Since I started using MFP, I've lost 7 lbs and 3% body fat, measured by electrical impedence. It has been a useful tool in my quest for fitness.
I work third shift, so sleep can be tricky to get in. But I do the best I can.

How has your week been?

My exercise has been good - three hard gym sessions, two short runs, one walk and one bike ride. And a lot of gardening!!

Eating and drinking has been okay but not as disciplined as my previous few weeks. I am tired and over winter, and now it is school holidays which is both good and bad.

One healthy habit I have found is sleep - trying to get a decent amount and get up regularly at the same time. My tactic for getting to sleep when I am struggling is deep breathing and/or lists of boring things
- cities in the USA starting with A, B, C
- fruits or vegetables or clothing items starting with A,B.C
- naming all the counties in the UK

It is pretty boring and it does put me to sleep
