Sally - I find it pretty hard to give up daily weighing. Have done it for years, so I know about daily/ monthly/ variations so would worry that if I just picked one day it'd be the unrealistically high or low one, rather that the average I get from tracking (I have an app that averages it out)

I ended up getting a skin biopsy done on Friday, so I've got stitches and am limited in how much exercise I can do until I get them out next week. Also had a stomach reaction to a new med my doctor wanted me to try, so couldn't keep food down for about 12 hours. I'm going to make lemonade out of lemons and use it as a way to clean up my portion sizes.

Hope everyone is doing OK and has fun plans for the next week. Maybe a Halloween costume?

Shedev, sounds like you need a break/holiday. I hope you can take one soon.

Anne - have you considered weighing yourself less often, picking one day a week and weighing then to track it longer term...just a thought.

Well done Janet - I could do with tracking my food- I can often pick a little between meals that I almost forget about (some cheese here, some dried fruit)...I am not a weigher either.

MsMaven - sounds a good week.

We went away to the Central Otago region - three two - three hour hikes (two hilly) but one long degustation lunch with wine and dessert:) Since I have been back have been actually pretty good with eating and exercise. A couple of things are fitting slightly better in the middle than they did last summer so that is good.

I hope you're feeling better, shedev!

I've not been on these threads in a while, but I've been making a strong effort to track my eating for the last month with the MyFitnessPal app, and to pick up on my running again (which is so rusty that it's really more running/walking -- I am back up to where I can run about 1.75 miles before a walk break, and I'd like to get to where I can do a 5K with no walk breaks in the next few weeks). With the weather cooling off, bicycling season for me is now slowing down and I'll pick up more on running, which I much prefer in cold weather because I tend to heat up too much running in the summer.

I don't own a scale (haven't had one in years), but I think I've lost a few pounds since I started tracking with the app. Some jeans from last winter were feeling quite snug in September when I tried them on, and I'm feeling a bit of change in them now. I'm going to keep at it -- tracking is really helping me be more mindful about my eating, and I'm still totally satisfied and never feel deprived or like I'm "dieting."

I also signed on with a new Under Armour gym that is opening about a half dozen blocks from my studio in the city -- they had a really great introductory deal ($38 a month) for people who pre-registered, since it is opening in January. I've been wanting to get back into yoga classes or something to help work on my strength. I get plenty of cardio with the running, walking, and cycling, but I think the gym will be a good solution for the rest, particularly since I can walk down there to either take a break from working in my studio, or after I'm done working for the day. We'll see how that goes!

Good week, maintaining weight and tried intensifying exercise sessions. I've been so hungry though. And the last few days since the weather cooled I have had little energy. Maybe it is the change of season and maybe I just need to rest a bit.

Shedev, hope you are feeling better soon.

I have had a good week in terms of excercise. I kept up with my plan - 2 weights sessions (upper and lower body), spin, yoga, one interval run, one 7km run and one 5km park run. My DD12 surprised me by going in the park run with me and beating me!!

Food wise I managed fine on the weekdays and I lost last weekends gained 2 kilos ... Then I went mad on baking for a charity bake off competition at work and put it all on again!

Got really busy at the end of the week with work. I'm not sure if I'm fighting a bug or the change in the weather, but I'm really wiped out. Food has been a lot of what I can grab on the go. Exercise has been running around with the dogs and some Yoga.
