Anne: I exercised in the evening (6-7 pm) and had had no food since 1pm.

I did a “dry tri” the other day at 12:30pm. My last meal was at 7:30pm so no food for 17 hours. I was not fatigued and it was the cardio that held me back rather than fatigued muscles.

I am also eating way more fat (saturated and unsaturated).

I had a busy few weeks with extra days at work and a talk which I did on Saturday, which preoccupied me for all my spare time, and took a toll on my sleep.

Healthy eating went by the wayside, and only did one run last week, and have done one this week. I cycled into work on some days, less than I wanted to owing to a flat tire. Kept up 2 visits to the gym for weights.

I find it a bit hard to understand eveyone's weights, especially since I think in metric, but I suspect I'm a weakling compared to most of you. I am pleased I can bench press 25kg for two sets of 12 reps.(after one set at 22.5)

Last week I only did one workout, no sports and lots of carbs. And I don’t feel too bad because life is too short.
This week I started intermittent fasting (or time restricted eating). I eat all my calories between 1pm and 9pm. It is going well, but the real amazing thing is how Much easier my workouts are!!! So counter-intuitive! My heart rate goes very high but I am not fatigued like I am usually. It is amazing. I was able to go quite a lot harder, and so much more comfortably! And all this in a fasted state! Wow!

I still can’t give up bread though. It’s too hard!

I should feel like a weakling, but don't. Squat 12 @ 36.5, DL 15 @ 78.5, BOR 12 @ 45, OHP 12 @ 27.5, no benching. Yoga 3 times and went better than expected. Diet has been iffy. Overall, I feel pretty good.

Pulled my left pec. I think I did it when I lowered the dumbell incorrectly during a chest fly ( I felt it). Not too bad, but I was not going to risk injuring it worse. I continued to train on Thursday using lighter weights and more reps. Made sure I stretched at least several times a day and did weightless chest presses, fly's, and arm circles. Feels much better today. But as of last Tuesday, doing 25lb dumbell rows, 20 lbs dumbell chest presses. I shall see what I am able to do tomorrow.

As predicted, I wasn't able to squeeze in much gym time in the past two weeks due to holidays and family obligations--that was expected. There were a few occasions where I was simply too tired and either didn't go in, or skipped weights entirely, opting for medium-intensity cardio instead. Right now, I seem to be hitting squats and bench twice per week, deadlifts once per week, and accessory work once or twice.

The past week's highlights include squatting triples at 175lb, deadlifting 250lb, benching 120lb, and using 55lb and 30lb dumbbells for rows and overhead presses respectively.

How was your past week or two?
