In retrospect, I have to wonder if part of your difficultly during the dark times over the past half year may have been a subliminal knowledge that all was not well (i.e. your body's inner knowledge of the thyroid issue in addition to the neck cancer). That is to say, when something is going on inside on a deep level, sometimes we "know more than we know" and it depresses our spirits. Now, you've been released from that awful set of chains and can truly look forward.
