What I've noticed is that the fabric content can vary from one color to the next, within the same make/model when you'd think it would fit exactly the same. I've experienced one color as having more give/stretch than another, and so they fit really differently. Off the top of my head, I think it's happened to me with Boden and Lucky jeans. Maybe that's what is going on here?</p> <p>Edited to add: you've given me hope though. I tried one on at NAS that was too gaping at the waist so I gave up on them ~ don't remember which color it was though. Guess what? The fit is very different and I had a total muffin top in the blacks. So if you are duplicating these skinnies in blue and black, be sure to test out both colors instead of thinking they might be identical. </p>
