Shoes are pretty important too. I like a bit of playfulness and flair with clean classic cuts. I find interesting socks very eye catching on a guy also. If you want to stand out as a guy, learn to wear COLORS. It’s seems most guys just wear black, grey, or blue. For example, here’s an outfit I made for my husband in burgundy. (Posted with his permission). Sometime he wears without the sweater, and with a grey blazer or jacket. My least favourite look is the gangsta'-athleasure look of sweatsuit, trucker hat, and undone high tops. My most favourite is nice casual trousers or jeans, nubby textured sweater, leather coat - a sort of weekend/going out to brunch look. Now that I'm so much older they can be grey as well, but I will look at them more if they are sharply dressed. A bit like Jessikams says. So many men look so slobbish especially in the weekend. This is particularly apparent in NZ ( and Australia, I think it can be from some of my visits there) and I just wish they would put in a bit of effort. So I will look at a man who does. I do look at the occasional rugby player with appreciation but he won't be the front row forward build.
