You look smashing in both outfits! You don't need to bookend your black hair, Mona. You can bookend in other ways, like with a bag and belt.

I wouldn't worry about book ending if you don't care for black. You do such a good job combining colours and textures that your outfits always look good. Why don't you just consider your black hair as an accent colour for an outfit ?

Thanks, ladies. If you guys don't miss the bookending in outfit #2 then I wouldn't worry about it. I am really enjoying the demi/semi tucking my tops. So fun!

Love both of these outfits! I echo Joy's thoughts regarding your purple flats...and I like the soft tones of your footwear in your 2nd outfit. I think dark footwear would be too jarring to the eye and shorten your leg line.
I think incorporating your colouring in an outfit works on many levels - I see echos of your beautiful skin tone in your belt and footwear. This all combines to a harmonious look to my eye.

You looks cute in both these looks. The dark purple sort of works to bookend as it adds something dark to the outfit, but I don't miss it in the second outfit. If you wanted you could try a dark belt.

Mona, you look adorable, seriously. I have no help on book ending as I am new to it too. I like 2 -- maybe a bright scarf instead of black?

I don't think it's critical here where your top is light. I like both of these with the demi-tuck!

#1 is what I wore on weekend. I put on my purple flats as they don't see light of the day very often so I thought they wound make a nice contrast with orange stripes in the blouse. #2 is what I wore to work today. I felt much more put together and like me in #2. However, looking at the pictures I am realizing the outfit seems to be missing something. There is no bookending. My problem is that I have the darkest black hair but I dont like black in clothing. I especially dont wear black around my face as it looks too harsh and emphasizes all zits, blemishes, bumps and scars on my face. i can perhaps try wearing my black sandals with this outfit to bookend. but I dont like looking at my feet and seeing black. So tell me YLF'ers how important it is to bookend?

Also, in pic #3, I have made a french braid. I usually do this in summer to keep my hair away from my face. In India/kashmir , a lot of women braid their hair but here I haven't seen anyone. Is this considered too girlish? old? not fashionable?
