The thigh-highs are infinitely more comfortable, fashionable, and warm, and make my winter outfits look more pulled together (e.g., with a black beret, navy coat, black boots, and a burgundy satchel). Now I wear them for about half the year and have never looked back! My wardrobe is still struggling to catch up... Ankle boots, though, make so much sense for the type of pants I like to wear -- cuffed/cropped, sometimes a bootcut or straight leg.  I wore through two pairs of higher-shaft lace-up boots (more combat style than chukka style) in the past year or so, and once I got rid of them I realized what a major role they played for me. The low-cut boot is even more versatile for me right now, though I am thinking of adding another taller pair in the future. It led to me embracing the long white jacket I bought in Amsterdam and the long white patterned jacket from Nordstrom. I like that it led me to a different, more unexpected, yet flattering silhouette. I have to stop myself from wearing it sometimes so I don't wear it out and give other things a chance to get worn. I could use some sort of game changer for spring/summer this year. We shall see what the season brings! The Motto Betty in particular has allowed me to pull together a range of different items to create outfits that normally wouldn't look so great. Sometimes I wear it on my hips and do a semi-tuck like Deb explained, and sometimes it sits at my waist and gives me some shape, like in the pic. It's been the best $40 I've spend in a long time.. I'm now wearing skirts and dresses again because about 8 years ago I had a massive rash attack of the legs (still don't know the cause) which left me with scars that are still visible to this day. It's faded some but I still will not wear any thing that exposes my bare legs. The knee high boots have really allowed me to feel comfortable and even excited about wearing dresses again. Also, I used to not like skinny jeans because I thought my thighs looked too fat in them due to the taper effect. But with boots, I actually look more balanced on the bottom. I wear them almost exclusive now in cold weather. I'm good either way. They were def game changers for me, tardy to the party or not! What stood out to me and changed things for ME with these pants was the cut. Not stretchy yoga pants which is all I've had for sport bottoms in ages. I can pair these with some target shoes I got also that had been orphaned bc they never looked quite right no matter what I paired them with. I feel like these new items can be worn in public without feeling like I look out of place. I tend to skew dressy but these are really comfy and have nice details like flat seams and super deep pockets that make me throw caution to the wind and join the lulu wearing crowd nice fabric to boot. In all seriousness I plan on wearing these as we are moving and we will now have a yard and we got a dog so my lifestyle is changing. I feel very different wearing these rather than my usual jeans or everyday wear but I must admit I love them. I also bought a couple tops and toppers at the same time so basically a capsule. I'm in love.
