I recently misplaced a dress- my sister gave it to me earlier in the summer, during a closet clean-out, and I SWEAR I took it home and hung it in my closet. I was so happy because I'd always admired it (BR, chocolate brown wool, shirtdress style with gold buttons) but she hardly ever wore it. But now I can't find it anywhere, and the other day I even started to wonder whether it had happened at all! Maybe she never even gave it to me? Who knows? A few weeks ago, I lost only one Steve Madden Melin oxford shoe in Cognac. I couldn't find it anywhere. I thought I was going crazy. I went away on vacation to visit a friend, and when I returned I read Angie's post about how hard it is to style oxfords. The universe was definitely sending me a message. Yesterday, when I closed my bedroom door, the shoe had mysteriously reappeared in my shoe storage beside the other one. I don't know where it walked off to, but I'm glad it's back. (My husband must have found it while I was away.) I hope your sweater turns up soon. I shipped a box of clothes and other stuff to Seattle at the end of my semester in Poland, and it was lost somewhere in between. I would have insured it, but the Polish post office employee didn't understand English well so I gave up. I didn't realize it and didn't call, but the cleaning lady must have found them and sent them to me. I bought the Bobeau tiered cardigan during NAS and wore it maybe 3-4 times until it suddenly vanished. I remember taking it out of the dryer one morning, throwing it in my bag to take with me to the hospital, and that's the last I remember. I wonder if I took it out of my bag and left it on a chair somewhere, and a nurse accidentally picked it up with other dirty linens? I even asked to check in the hospital laundry room and found nothing there! I have searched high and low and my pretty cardigan is gone! It's a huge disappointment because a) I can't afford to lose that money right now and b) I loved that thing! Have you ever mysteriously lost an item of clothing? Or am I going crazy? (The latter is possible.)
