The big thing is make sure you follow the instructions, especially adding either salt or vinegar. What kind of fabric is the top? It's very hard to dye synthetic fabrics. And if the thread is made of a different material, it will take up color differently than the rest of the top.<br />Try bleaching it first. It was a magenta color that I didn't think I could match, so I chose to dye it black. It took very well, so I was pleased, but it was a time-consuming process. (I didn't want to risk my new washing machine, so I dyed in a stock pot on the stove.) I've thought about trying to bleach it out, but if that doesn't work do you think dying the whole shirt a pale pink colour might hide the stain? Or would it highlight the blotch? </p>
