Can't say the same, Elisabeth. My topper is almost always on when I'm not at home - accept for now that it's 80 degrees and I can FINALLY LEAVE OFF MY TOPPER.

Well I guess I'm the odd one out. I love blazers and run cold. I wear mine all day long, no problem. Actually not comfortable without one although I will roll my sleeves if I think they might get dirty!! But taking them off, no, never!!

Yes, especially when drinking....haha- jokes! But yes, it does come off, but whatever season it is, I am typically layering and expecting to shed/add throughout the day. Usually related to thermal comfort. Jewelry is usually what I shed when it comes to function and range of motion. (Re: bracelets, long necklaces, etc)

Yeah, my topper usually ends up hanging on the hook when I'm in the office. You're definitely on to something re: range of motion!

Thistle had a thread about this yesterday. I like your statement:
"And although the blazers are perfectly comfortable, my range of motion is slightly diminished in such a way that I instinctively take them off the second my attention is directed toward the completion of a task."
Yes, I think it is instinctive or driven by the subconcious or something! Think of all the movie/tv/commercial scenes of people "rolling up their sleeves to get down to work".

Yup. I run warm, so it's rare for a topper to stay on during the day, even in winter. I've learned to wear sleeveless blouses or nice tshirts under everything because odds are I'll be down to just that eventually.

My new office is FREEZING, though, so recently I've been wearing a wool sweater at my desk. But a blazer is usually too stiff for sitting and typing.

Yes, Diana, the full range of arm movement is important too. It's not that my blazers don't fit. They do. But for a gal like me who has always had jobs that do not require office wear -- well, I guess I've been conditioned to have very high standards for everyday comfort. And although the blazers are perfectly comfortable, my range of motion is slightly diminished in such a way that I instinctively take them off the second my attention is directed toward the completion of a task.

Me! My jacket is currently on the back of my chair as it's kind of warm in the lab. Plus certain types of lab work don't play well with long sleeves, or require full range of arm movement. I don't wear heavier or stiffer jackets (like leather jackets) indoors at all.

It's funny actually, I often feel a bit too warm to wear a blazer, but then when I take it off my arms are cold (because jackets are more comfortable without long sleeves squishing up inside them). Today's combo of cowl scarf and short sleeves is surprisingly good temp-wise though.

Anyone else have trouble keeping their topper on? Especially structured ones like a blazer or jacket? I love the look of a blazer, but if I throw one on in the morning, it often spends most of the day hanging over the back of a chair. Either I get too warm or I want to avoid dragging my sleeves in things. Perhaps I'm not meant to look polished. :-)

This is why my tee shirts must look halfway decent. I can't rely on my blazer to "correct" an ill-fitting or ugly tee shirt!
