Thanks, all! I'm wearing them today, couldn't resist the comfort on a Saturday. Paired them with a flowy sleeveless top tucked in, but needed another layer, which kind of messed up the look. I don't have any non-sleeveless flowy tops. Must fix this problem!

Or does unstructured < > flowy?

KILLER! Not slouchy - but rather pleated, streamlined and just fabulous! Pleats add excellent ease on the thigh area which is why they often work for my pear shaped clients.

I don't think you need to be all fitted on top. A relaxed tucked top will look amazing!

Love 'em! Pleats add ease and, in a soft fabric, can flow quite nicely over the body. These look great on you!
I think they look very good. I like to wear my slouchy pants with faux-tuck or tucked in tops and if I wear a jacket on top I prefer it to be not as long as yours - but not cropped either.
I have an inspiration board for slouchy pants, maybe it will be helpful for you as well...

nancylee -- I love those on you! I'll experiment with wearing them lower, as was suggested in your thread. I hiked mine up to lessen the pouch, but maybe I need to accentuate the pouch instead?

They came out of the wash without a single wrinkle, yay! I was worried I'd have to iron them.

These are VERY cool on you. Nice fit, although I can hear Angie saying you should go bigger and slouchier (haha). It's all about your own comfort level, though.

I don't have a lot to offer since I'm a newcomer to slouchy/baggy, too. I agree that these look better without the jacket. You might want to try a fitted waistband top. I've been trying mine with loose/high-low blouses and just letting them hang. But that might not work for you since it would cover up the cool zippers. :)

Here's the link of my baggy trousers. You can get a good laugh at how high I've hiked them up....I'm such a neophyte!

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....trying-the
I love 'em! I actually think that slouchy pants look best when they are pleated. I would never have imagined that a year or two ago, but there you go! I think the pleats are essential because they anchor the pants, reining the volume in a bit and showing of (for example) your lovely waist! Great pants!

The brand is Lauren Vidal. They're in the wash right now, so I can't check the fabric but it's a poly blend, very silky/stretchy.

I hadn't even though of a high-low top! Great idea, thanks!

Those are fab! What are they?
You don't have to have a fitted top--in fact I think not as good--try them with a boxy easy silky T or high-low top. I kind of like the jacket in #2. You may find a denim jacket you like but I found the typical short jean jacket almost harder to style with the slouchy tapered pants--maybe try a slightly looser bomber style?
I hope someone else will chime in with better ideas.

Pleats and tapered ankles have been a no-no for me for as long as I can remember. Yet I've fallen for all the slouchy and tapered looks you all have been posting over time. Today I went shopping to look for a denim jacket to go with the dress I posted yesterday, and instead found these pants.

They are WAY outside my comfort zone. But are one of the most comfortable things I've ever put on. Even if they are deemed unfit for public consumption, I will happily wear these around the house. Final sale, but so comfy that I couldn't leave them behind.

Ah, the zippers. I fell for those first, otherwise I wouldn't have even noticed them. There are three zippers on the waist, and the pleats begin below that. Those shoes are the only non-slippers I had upstairs with me, but that is generally what most of my shoes look like.

Is there anything to watch for with the whole slouchy/pleaty look? I keep thinking about Rae's white jeans post yesterday and wondering if I look like I'm smuggling something, and if that's a bad look in this case, or not since it's an intentional pleat.

1 -- best view of the pleats and slouch that I could get.
2 -- the zippers!
3 -- styled, somewhat
4 -- side view where you can see the pouchiness of the pleats

I think these pants need a more fitted look up top, right? I really need some new jackets, stat. ALL my old ones are just too big now, even though I'm only *barely* down one size. That off-white one in the photo below was just shy of being too small when I bought it a couple of months ago (thrift store), and now it's almost too big. I found a nearly perfect denim jacket at JCP but it was too tight in the underarms. Next size up was too loose everywhere. What else can I wear with these pants so that I don't look like I stepped out of the 80's?
