I find I do much better in reducing the appearance of bulk by using an A-line instead of a box pleat. But, I love this silhouette and just might copy you. I am in the hunt for the "perfect" summer dress pattern - but have yet to come across it. That pattern looks good to me and you would have the option of stitching the folds down a little further if you wanted to reduce fullnes on the high hip. I love Vogue patterns and that one would be perfect in a lightweight chambray. As Angie noted in a recent post, it is so hard to find good length in skirts, and it's critical in a fuller shape, in my opinion. I'm planning on sewing the skirt to make the length just perfect, and I am looking for a little softer, drapier chambray fabric. Although I love the stiffer looks in my pinterest pins, I think the drape will fit my more casual spring/summer lifestyle and would probably offer more figure flattery.</p> <p>Am I on the right track here? </p> <p>Note: I also plan on making a couple of simple knit dresses, as well. I'm so tired of wrong lengths, and these would be simple construction and reasonable cost to sew. </p>
