Some might work, some won't.</p> <p>My first jean jacket was my mom's that I took over before I was 12 (in those days and in that place, apparently they were called "hard guys" jackets). I embellished it with star-shaped studs and eventually overdyed it with a soft barn red before it got too soft and floppy to wear. But even though I adjusted it in those ways from its original intent, the fit was what made it work. </p> <p>My next one? It was AWFUL. It was a longer style and in a very slightly faded black. I wanted to love it since I thought it fit my somewhat dressier (for a young person) style, but it was so uncomfortable. Stiff and heavy and fought my hourglass shape with its unforgiving bands and panels. Oh well.</p> <p>I have a more classic one now, but like Lyn D.'s, it's thrifted (wore it yesterday with a skirt ensemble). I say no to styles all the time--if it's not your thing, don't bother with one.
