Thanks for the link, Anna. Definitely food for thought. I have to admit that for better or worse I'm probably one of those people that Echo mentions whose main criteria for shoes is comfort first, then probably style second. Charity and aid are a nice bonus but not a reason for me to buy shoes... I think probably just giving money directly to a reputable organization is the way to go there. Of course if a company has actually harmful practices that is a different story...

Anyway, I think I am going to hold off on these for now, at least until I can find some to try on in person. The heel height is really borderline too high for me and I am not sure they would be comfy/supportive enough anyway. Plus, I may or may not have just ordered a pair of Fluevog booties... (not summer-appropriate to be sure, but something I have been stalking for ages).
^ That provides good information, and it raises good points about whether our donations and charity has the intended effect at all. However, I'd venture a guess that a lot of people buy TOMS because they are comfortable. Overall, I think that while TOMS may not be as great in terms of aid as people think they are, they are probably no worse than, say, the places that bought from the collapsed building in Bangladesh, KWIM? In other words, if a person is buying TOMS solely for the purpose of supporting the charity, then that might be misguided. But if people are buying them because they like the product, I imagine there are worse brands they could support.

I have the winter version of the same shoe in black suede. I do not find them to be more comfortable than other 3" heels, although they might be slightly easier to walk in. The arch support is okay, but nothing special (I can't compare it to flat TOMS, as I don't have any of those). I took the blue TOMS tag off of the back because it made the shoe look much more casual.

I have the wooly winter version of these. They are by far my most comfy heeled shoe. More comfy than some 2 in heels. I do think they run on the big side. I'm almost a full size down from my normal closed toe shoe size in them.

That ikat pair is really tempting me.

Oh! I have the Ikat booties and am wearing them for the first time today. I can barely walk in heels, but I find these easy to walk in and very comfy. They're worth a try, IMO.
Saw a pair of the TOMS wedge booties in a store this morning (but they did not have anything close to my size to try on) and thought they might be nice for summer in the ikat or chambray fabrics. I can't wear regular flat TOMS because they have no arch support but wedges might be OK. Plus, in boots I can add orthotics. The heel is 2.75" which is a little high for me but a lot of the reviews suggest it feels lower.

So, has anyone tried them? How high does the heel feel and are they comfy?

Chambray:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/to.....onalizedso

Ikat:
http://www.toms.com/grey-ikat-.....t-wedges/s

There are also sandals. Do we think these have any arch support? Probably too high for me though - Nordies' says 3" heel w/ 1" platform but they look higher and the TOMS website says 3 5/8".
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/to.....8;contextu
