FI -- "ah-deh-lahn-teh" which is Spanish for forward, ahead, or onwards. I'm guessing it's meant to evoke progress in this case, as they are paying the cobblers a livable wage. (Also, it's been forever since I thought about Free to Be You and Me; thanks for the trip down memory lane!)

Joy and Angie -- I like the low-heeled chelsea too. It would definitely get a lot of wear. That said, a lace-up boot with no zippers and a heel between 1.5-2" has been a HEWI for a long time. I like the blue, but would probably end up with red or brown for versatility, maybe black.

Jenni -- that's funny that you find laces annoying. All but a few of my shoes are true lace-ups with no other closure. I find it very, very difficult to get a good fit without laces because I have (apparently!) a high instep. I love the look of chelseas but it's tough to find a good fit. Blundstones in a half size are perfect because they have a lot of volume. Adelante caught my eye because they offer A - EEE widths in all of their styles.

How is the company name pronounced? I cannot read it without hearing Alan Alda telling about a race with young John from the village (from the fantastic classic Free to Be You and Me).

Another vote for the blue. They have the lowest heel and are a rare color for a bootie.

I don't know the brand or company, but like the blue best too.

The blue ones look the most practical- no annoying laces, and flatter heel.
The heel on the red looks a little high to me but I love the looks of that red boot. I haven’t owned red boots for a few years now, and when I did I really enjoyed them.

Adelante Shoe Co, a Massachusetts-based company (manufacturing in Guatemala) keeps coming up in my footwear browsing. I ended up returning the olive chelsea boots I tried last month (tight instep, very squeaky soles), so I am still on the lookout for some cool moderately stompy boots, either lace-up or chelsea style.

Adelante offers customizable colours and sizing, which reminds me a little of Poppy Barley (although PB seems to be doing less and less made-to-order and offering a much wider range of styles in a more limited range of sizes these days). Also, a generous return policy, especially considering the degree of customization. I love the look of each and every style they offer. I appreciate that they're resoleable and seem to have good ethical credentials. Has anyone ordered from them? Comments on quality/sizing? Any opinions on the three styles below (Not necessarily those colours, just the shapes). I'm thinking my 2021 budget will have room for a pair of these.
