I don't know why they're imprecise. My recent docs had the shaft at 15 and 16 in different places (where that inch made a big difference!) I'd try and research and maybe contact an online sales person to help you with that. They are a beautiful boot in both brown and black. These are stated to have a 7 inch diameter.. okay, I get that.. it should translate to a 14 inch circumference. But I saw another boot listed with a 5 inch diameter. REALLY, a 10 inch circumference boot? And the shaft of this one list as 13 inches tall... this looks taller than that doesn't it? </p>
