I "settled" (happily) for washed/faded black from Everlane. Very soft but substantial. So far I tried a pair from Ann Taylor because I have a great pair of white skinnies from them (Angie pick), and a pair from WHBM because I have fabulous dark-wash jeans from them (also an Angie pick). Both attempts were a total bust. The denim was thin, like a jegging, and in the case of the ATs, the legs were cut SO NARROW it was absurd. And I have scrawny legs! </p>
