Not sure if it was done correctly though. It was more out of time constraints...I was in a hurry. She didn't wash it. I just sat down, draped the smock and she cut it. My stylist always washes it first, then cuts it scissors-over-comb while it's slightly damp. Then she uses thinning shears to point-cut the top. This method produces LOTS of texture!</p> <p>I LOVE your hair! Not when I had short hair though--- when I was in my short hair phase I was going to a different stylist than I do now and I don't think she was nearly as good. I have had bangs cut/razored dry even up to 10 years ago, so it must be something that has been around for awhile. I actually don't mind the pull and sound of the razor, but then at the time we were trying to damage my hair! One of my favorite ever dry cuts was about shoulder length and had the ends texturized and layered dry and then very small pieces cut about 1.5 inches long through the crown into the under layer. When I used a vent brush and blow-dried the top I would "scrunch" the hair underneath. Gave me a lot of body-- like teasing but much more subtle. </p> <p>I will have to go back and look at the hair in your blog post again!
