I am narrow right under the bust, and then it's like a big ski slope down to my hips, so I understand about waistbands migrating up or down, depending on the cut. Oh. And a long inseam. As a result any pant with a drawstring or elastic waist looks like it sits right under my bust. It's either muffin top or else the pants slide and roll down my hips. That's a big part of why I didn't wear pants for most of the last few years! I have Eileen Fisher black knit harem pants and a new pair by Stella Carakasi for spring, in a stone tencel fabric. Both of my pairs are more like a long skirt, in effect. I find it an easy sihouette to wear. I have another pair that is more pant-like, and what makes those work for me is that they are fitted at the waist.
