My MIL used to but the pandemic changed that. In 2020 we all went to an Airbnb cottage and last year DH, DD and I left for a resort in cottage country and left the grandparents to their own devices!</p> <p>This year we have a puppy who has just been spayed so our options are limited. We sucked it up and offered to host. Turkey, stuffing, squash, green beans, mashed, gravy, cranberry, pumpkin pie. Phew! It’s gorgeous here today ( we are having our family dinner today ) with clear blue skies and temp at about 18C . Glorious colours in my neighborhood and as we are close to a lake where geese stage and ready for the fight south , there is the sound and sight of hundreds of them flying overhead . Each year I decorate our table a little differently : some years with more effort than others ,and some years it’s elaborate and others not so much. Nothing fantastic here , just a pleasant mix of fall colours on our milky white glass dining table . No wine on the table this year - DH and I don’t drink anymore so I’ve made a fall themed non- alcoholic cocktail for pre-dinner drinks . What are you all doing this weekend ? </p>
