In NZ there are some celebrations, mainly at Irish pubs I think!<br /> It is slightly tempered for me now because my Dad actually died on 17 March in 2010. This is a day that makes me miss my Mom a lot, and feel really nostalgic for my upbringing within the Irish community in Toronto. DH came through to cheer me up yesterday, with a lamb-and-Guinness stew, which inspired me to stop moping and make some soda bread to go with it (DD ate almost the whole loaf, so I'll be adding this to the regular rotation!).
