I know our previous famous woman PM Helen Clark a tiny bit socially ( one of her 3 sisters married into DH's extended family) and she had felt 37 years ago that she couldn't have children and be in politics, so this is quite a step forward for women since Helen entered Parliament in 1981.<br /> I feel a teensy bit anxious for them too though. 6 weeks is not long to take off from such a big job as running a country so as an always part-time working mother ( average of 3 days a week with DH usually a bit under full-time as well) I wonder how the couple will cope. But if we get to have her breastfeeding at Parliament that will break down some more barriers. It is certainly blazing a trail for women to be only the second ever world leader to give birth while in office, Bhutto's child was born in 1990.
