I've been struggling lately on a lot of fronts, but YLF and its ladies always help me rediscover my confidence. <br />I completed a giant round of fall shopping, which was both fun and reinvigorating. I'm grateful that I had the means to do that and the luck to find so many pieces to&nbsp; help me get back in the groove. <br />In more substantial matters, I'm feeling particularly grateful for my job at the moment - not least of which because I have one. A family member was laid off not long ago, and his situation has made me appreciate my continued employment in a whole new light. Secondly, I have the best&nbsp;colleagues ever, a fact brought home to me last week at a farewell bash for someone who&nbsp;was moving onto a new opportunity. I shattered my femur, bruised my breast (airbag injury), was transferred to a major hospital in Dallas, and am now in a nursing home over a thousand miles from home. Still in a lot of pain and have a massive wound. It has been tough.<br /> I'm happy I survived, that my daughter sustained only cuts and minor bruises, that my surgery went well, and that I am progressing rapidly in regaining my mobility. My happiest moment was when I was told that my daughter has gotten a job. She finished grad school in the spring and had been stressed out and discouraged. (She was the driver, too, and may get a citation.)<br /> I've been inactive on the forum lately, mostly due to tech problems (couldn't open YLF, couldn't see the pictures or could see only one per post, Internet kept shutting down, etc.) but slashed my shopping, purged a lot, lost enoug weight to go down a size, all inspired by YLF. It was done by just 2 actors and was our first attempt at a play with a bit of culture.<br /> The icing on the cake that has been my week was this weekend which I spent in Leeds with my cousin and her 3 kids. It took me 4 hours to get there on Friday afternoon (instead of the usual 2 1/2!!) but rather that get cross at 3 lanes of stationary traffic in the rain I cranked up the music, crunched on polos and admired the autumn leaves. The aim as usual is to try to focus on the positives in life. </p> <p>I'll kick things off then... Two medical/ health related things firstly. My mum was actually taken quite poorly yesterday and the upshot is that she is now on a cardiac ward undergoing tests in hospital. I'm so grateful that it wasn't a heart attack and the wonderful staff are trying every&nbsp;possibility to see what the problem is and why the irregular beats, shortness of breath etc are happening. Your positive thoughts would be appreciated. </p> <p>The second health thing is my son's conjunctivitis is clearing nicely and he's very perky now and back on his computer games shooting up a storm!</p> <p>Thirdly, I had a nice catch up with some friends over a glass of wine on Friday night (before mum was taken poorly) It was great to chill and chat.</p> <p>Finally, I found some fabulous cognac booties at last (I mentioned them on the forum). It took a while to seek out the right pair, but I've been firmly on team wear the last few days :)</p> <p>Over to you now. Feel free to add photos and links as usual.</p>
