There's be a separation between my "work" (blogging), which I'd do on the imac, and having fun/browsing, which I could do anywhere. I also love the idea of having it as a reader/movie player for when I'm traveling. I'm definitely still a paper book girl right now, but can see myself changing my tune for some types of publications, in the future. Some things are worth having "hard copies" of and some things aren't- particularly when you factor in the eco issue. Anyway, the ipad sure blows the Kindle with its "8 shades of grey" out of the water!</p> <p>Looking to the future, I love the idea that in the future, kids will have one ipad-like thing to carry around, instead of a backpack full of textbook and binders. But Maya- you're so right. And I do think it's the most gorgeous looking e-reader around at the moment. I have heard though that the glare of the screen might be tiring for your eyes after a while. The only new offer it brings is an e-reader...and I don't really want an e-reader. It's supposed to be a hybrid of both, but seems to leave out the best features of each.</p> <p>I think there is great potential for it to be used for presentations, though. But I don't know that it's enough for me to think it is worth getting in addition to a laptop.</p> <p>Apple tends to do that though. The first version of a new product is never the best to get, IMO. Usually the second version is a huge improvement and there is sometimes even a drop in price. Look at the iphone. Yes, I study Apple retail trends very carefully.
