I am very happy to live in a land of four seasons. Fall isn’t long enough for me. I adore the crisp mornings, warmer, but still cool days and the need for an extra cozy layer in the evening. The colors and light in autumn are the most magical to my eye.<br /> As much as I enjoy all four seasons, winter is the longest and by the time it is winding down I am really tired of my winter clothing. I am much happier in the 70s so it is not my favorite. Summer dressing is so easy, just a dress and lightweight topper. Fall and transitional weather ranges from 40s to 60 so it is much harder to figure out outfits. I find layering challenging and somehow always manage to forget what worked the year prior. Still with all that said, winter dressing gets pretty boring and our long cold springs feel like winter! So fall, once I figure it out, usually provides opportunity for lots more options. Mornings and evenings can be in the 40’sF but, if the sun comes out, it turns hot mid day and afternoon so layers are important. I keep trying to put espadrilles in a box on a top closet shelf to make room for booties in my shoe cabinet, but the summer shoes are still needed. Having everything out makes things messy. DH says it is time to pull out winter hats and gloves. Ack. I do not mind more warm fall weather, at least through October. We have not had frost yet. I am looking forward to seasonal allergies going away..
