Those straps are to keep a garment on the hanger in the store, not for any other reason--if they're in your way, you can cut them off without feeling a twinge.

I cut them off too, unless it is a particularly slippery dress or one with a wide neckline that doesn't fit on a hanger.

Ok, snipping it is unless they will help in the hanging.

Speaking of hanging -- I have more closet space than drawer space so a lot of my knits are on hangers. I fold them in half lengthwise and drape them over the horizontal part of the hanger. Is there a better way of dealing with knits that are hung?

I cut them too. Knits shouldn't be hung anyway so I just fold them in half and drape them on the hanger, and wovens seem to do just fine without those annoying bits.

Snip, snip, snip and snip again. I am sort of scissor-happy when it comes to fringe and hanger loops.

I have really nice wooden hangers from my F&T days so my clothes hang very well without the straps. I've started snipping them all off because they're just too annoying.

I do the same a Khris, if they wiggle through the armhole they are snipped, otherwise I just leave them.

If they are done in a way that shows when wearing, I cut them off. If not, I use them for hanging. They keep knits from stretching out, and wovens from slipping off.

I'm pretty clueless as to what to do with those straps (sometimes clear, sometimes not) that come with clothes. I think they are called hanger straps.

Anyhow, do you cut them off or use them to hang your clothes? My YLF Nine West dress has two clear ones on the shoulders and two black ones at the armpits; what do I do with those?
