You can be a carrier without knowing, without really being affected/getting sick. He said the best thing about a mask is that it reminds you not to touch your face. Even wear it at home. I'm going to have to do it with a scarf. But I thought this was a good little tutorial from Lauren Messiah on how to make a DIY (non-medical) mask - for those required to cover their faces or who feel more comfortable that way.</p> <p>My understanding is that these masks limit the risk of you transmitting infection to someone else by blocking any inadvertent cough, sneeze or other transmitting action and that they are to be used by healthy people in conjunction with social distancing.
