I’ve been making a lot of masks for local healthcare organizations in need. The tutorial I follow is from Jessica Quirk on Instagram:
https://www.instagram.com/tv/B.....295u0jjt7l

There’s also a good one from Mimi G on YouTube:

It’s official here now: must wear masks.

Yes, that’s my understanding... masks don’t protect you so much as other people from you. You can be a carrier without knowing, without really being affected/getting sick. And having been tested doesn’t mean anything for whether you’re a carrier Now.

If you put some lengthwise pleats in the scarf, you can get a more fitted mask.

I watched a video by Dr. David Price at Cornell. He said the best thing about a mask is that it reminds you not to touch your face. Even wear it at home. I'm going to have to do it with a scarf. Breezy hay fever weather makes my eyes and nose itch.

Hi friends, I'm not sure if this was shared already? But I thought this was a good little tutorial from Lauren Messiah on how to make a DIY (non-medical) mask - for those required to cover their faces or who feel more comfortable that way.

My understanding is that these masks limit the risk of you transmitting infection to someone else by blocking any inadvertent cough, sneeze or other transmitting action and that they are to be used by healthy people in conjunction with social distancing. People with more medical knowledge than me, by all means correct any mistakes I've made here and of course, everyone double-check with your public health for the guidelines you're meant to follow!
