I wish I could give you a hug. </p> <p>When I was in college studying music, my flute (which was a pro level instrument) was stolen from my locker in the music building. We were all required to use the same flimsy $5 combo locks that I learned are super easy to break into. Afterwards I stopped using the locker for everything except textbooks and music. Fortunately my instrument was covered by my parents' homeowners insurance, and I was able to get a full value replacement.<br /> Also, a year or so later, my stolen instrument actually turned up on EBay (we were watching for the brand and serial number.) The insurance company was able to recover it when we alerted them. I've never been to a dermatologist for anything other than removal of a weird mole on my calf and a rash on my elbows that turned out to be wheat-related. I haven't really gone to a dermatologist for anything else in terms of basic skin care or treatments, so your post with the before/after hand treatment is very useful and enlightening. </p> <p>What an amazing difference! You have very pretty hands :)</p> <p>In the meantime - here's hoping you're finding some peace and healing from the goings-on, re: recent break-in. More like a flash of warmth and a slight sting. (I take a half the smallest dose of Xanax beforehand. It is a little sore and irritated for a few days after, but not bad. Nothing like, say, a migraine headache. Then after a few days the spots start looking like coffee grounds and fall off in another week or so. Of course you have to be careful with sun exposure after.</p> <p>I think the results are dramatic. I have had some laser done on my face for red spots, light brown spots and rosacea. The results were so-so and since then I've had to treat some of the same spots for pre-cancers, which leaves me with more red spots. I imagine it is much more effective if you just have a few spots on your face. </p> <p>As you can tell, I'm pretty thin-skinned. (Fortunately I did have a few in my safe deposit box.)</p> <p>Well worth it--2 treatments at approximately $200 apiece. A few spots are still not quite healed, but the improvement makes me happy. </p>
