I have no idea how to use a clothing pattern, and getting the fit correct seems tricky. &nbsp;How did you know which pattern to choose? &nbsp;Did anyone help you? &nbsp;I first learned quilting with in person instruction. &nbsp;I have been able to advance my quilting skills a bit by watching “YouTube University” but, I had a basic foundation on which to build. &nbsp;Some day, I would love to try to make clothing........</p> <p><div>DD26 loves strawberries and we pick them every summer at a local farm. Once we have eaten our share, I freeze some and make preserves. &nbsp;I love the idea of wearing a dress for our annual outing, but our community has Lyme disease carrying ticks! &nbsp;Ugh! &nbsp;For protection while gardening, hiking, or picking anything from a farm, we wear what looks like full surgical PPE/hazmat suits! I love everything about this on you </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/handmade-sundress#post-2128594 Sat, 20 Jun 2020 15:54:52 +0000 LeandraofBleuAvenue 2128594@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>I've been making simple dresses for a few years.&nbsp; This little strawberry dress was my first attempt with Simplicity Vintage 1950s Reproduction pattern #8252.&nbsp; It turned out to be soooo easy that I made two dresses in a week.&nbsp; This dress was supposed to be for berry picking and gardening this year, but a late frost has decimated all the local berry crops, so I'll just be wearing this dress around the garden.&nbsp; On my second attempt I changed this skirt to a full skirt to give it more of a vintage look. </p>
