I regularly wipe my white (and all my bags, actually), and don't wear denim that bleeds - which helps! I also store my bags with enough space so that they don't get squashed and messed up. I love handbags , love them . But ....because of my lack of the discipline and organization gene that was passed out to everyone else , switching among a lot of purses just causes havoc . I forget critical things and end up with purses full of Kleenex and lipgloss instead . I put the brakes on purse buying a few years ago and am managing just fine . I may buy a new one once or twice a year but really can’t justify even that at this point in my life . I tend to choose the best I can afford , and experience has proven that as my best strategy . Buying cheap and cheerful never works . How do I choose ? With an eye to new trends or design ideas , and always with a specific colour in mind . I don’t have finds for any of my bags . I keep on hearing about a "do not buy list", it sounds like a great idea! At the moment, I am ok with keeping the current number and replacing when needed, but eventually I will need to add bags to a do mot buy list. Cat2, I try to purchase mid range bags as well as I think I get the best cost-quality. I admire high profile brands, like Celine for instance, but I doubt I would ever purchase it as I would be paying for the brand rather than the quality. I don’t attempt to play up in the stratosphere with bags or any part of fashion. I generally carry the smallest one possible, usually with a couple fabric ones folded up inside for other needs that arise (hello groceries!). I prefer to go hands-free and sometimes ride a bike, so mine are backpacks or cross-bodies. I have backpacks from Kate Spade (red) and Desigual (blue with black & white pattern), medium-sized cross bodies with guitar straps from Free People (green suede, was originally a shoulder bag, hence the guitar strap) and le Sak (off-white/putty) and small cross bodies from Coach (black, vertical) and P Nash (cognac, landscape). Also a very large green/multi fabric crossbody I picked up at a market here. They all close securely, generally with zippers. For a gymbag I use a blue/green tie dye cinch sack from LL Bean. They are all well made and serve their purposes—when I’m carrying one, i don’t need to think about it. One need I don’t have covered that may arise is carrying papers/a laptop. I have one for that in a storage locker in Florida, will get a second here if need be. I have handbags on my "do  not buy" list as I  have a collection and am using them less due to not dressing for work. I did not actually carry them in to workplace but did rotate by seasons, mood and specially good outfit combinations. Plus I often picked one for church outfit. I actually feel a bit overwhelmed by having many unused  now but have done a small edit of ones I feel I just don't really like that much, and am keeping the rest for now. Now that "surfaces" for COVID are not thought to be as big a deal, I feel okay about using a leather bag to go to grocery or similar (since handbag is not dragged through or onto anything) so am planning to rotate through a few of the seasonal ones to get the feel for, do I still like how this bag looks and functions, apart from the pandemic wardrobe and occasion limitations. They are perfectly sized to hold wallet, keys, sunnies and cell phone.  I have one belt bag and one back pack.  If I want a cross body bag, I use one of the MZ Wallace bags.  I have two dressy clutches.  I recently purchased a rolling briefcase for work to use in place of the MZ Wallace tote,  It was on sale, and I had my eye on it for a while, but the prices were too high.  I jumped when the price went down, (probably because more people are working from home) and my old tote is going to become my gym bag.  Finally, I have several reusable shopping totes that fold into small packets that can fit easily inside my other bags.   Minaminu on "Handbags" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/handbags-8#post-2149931 Sat, 24 Oct 2020 13:22:15 +0000 Minaminu 2149931@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Handbags are one of my passion and have a small collection. My Furla blue bag has now found a new home and I have the founds for a smaller and more suitable replacement. The below is my handbag collection 1 pink silk clutch, I used it for my wedding and use it for special occasions 2 a red satchel bag, the small size is perfect for daily errands and has a lovely colour 3 a black handbag, great for the office! It is like the Mary Poppins bag, it contains a lot and never loose the shape! The texture is quite unique as well. 4 a light grey handbag, also great for office time and yet it is superlight 5 a black suede leather crossbody which doubles as evening clutch I am missing an old pink leather clutch, which I have been using for the last 10 years, mainly during summer. I am now looking for a crossbody bag in a neutral colour, I ordered this little grey piece, fingers crossed! How about you? How many bags do you have and how do you choose yours?
