Preference is for a coat hook if available, otherwise back of chair (perks of carrying smaller bags!). Floor as a last resort. I tend to wear bags that can stay on my body hands free, even whilst out in public (e.g. backpacks, crossbody bags, fanny packs/ bum bags). I hang them up when not in use (on a dedicated hook at home, &amp; off the back of my chair at work). I even carry an S hook for use on public transport </p> <p>I always ask where to put my bag when visiting someone else. I never put my bags on the floor/ground. I would not put my handbag on anyone else's kitchen counter, though in my own home, I'd be perfectly comfortable leaving it anywhere. The truth is, I don't because then I would never be able to find it when I needed it! I'm on the fence because I prefer the way smaller bags look but I find it hard to fit all my necessities, including asthma inhaler and sunglasses. And maybe I don't want an expensive item that will become a vector of disease over time. :-o</p>
