Make sure the functional hardware performs as it's supposed to. Do the zippers move back and forth with ease, whether they're serving as the bag's closure or adorning an inside pocket? Do turnlocks actually stay secure once closed? If the bag features an "adjustable" strap, does it actually adjust?<br />I empathize with your bag excitement - a new purchase I made last week has made me smile each time it's been in my hand since then.
