They are very comfortable, TTS and fairly narrow around the ankle.. They would certainly work with skirts and dresses. The studs are very subtle, more burnished than shiny, and just add a little interest. A word of caution, although the grey is a great colour, if you nick or scratch them it's white underneath. They are also made of a softer material than the black pair and I don't think they'll last as well. Still haven't worn them yet (It's 72 degrees here). They do have a nice narrow fit on the ankles. I find them very comfortable. Can't help you on the skirts/dresses question.
