I grew it out to an asymmetrical very short angled wedge cut which was really fun - short on one side, long on the other. Looked like I had the short side tucked behind an ear. Thanks, ladies! </p> <p>As it happens, I like it quite a bit, BUT the thing that led to my considering to grow it out are (a) I went to 2 Indian weddings this year, and looking at the beautiful Indian women in their saris and longer hair made me feel silly in *my* sari and short hair, and (b) I have had my hair short for so long that I thought I would try something different. </p> <p>As my hair started growing, though, I started feeling more on the fence. I now think I am going to make a haircut appointment for this weekend if I can. I think I'm bringing pixie back. This means you have a lot of options. In the meantime, I've become a great fan of Moroccan oil and use it regularly on my hair in these humid months. It looks to me like you need a good thinning through the top and front to take some of the weight out. Let your hairdresser know where you are wanting to go, and let him/her work it into that direction.
