If you were my client, I would say stick with the short layers as they can be a pain to grow out to a bob and have the fringe side swept and cut on an angle and possibly razor cut or thinned a bit so it isn't so heavy. At first it was annoying but I've gotten use to it and I like the look. I also find it more versatile the longer it gets. You can sweep it to the side and have fun with hair pins, hair bands etc. Also texture hair creams help when I want more volume and it off my face more.<br />You have a very pretty face and look fab in short hair. I'm also a fan of #2. &nbsp;Sometimes it takes a few haircut cycles for your personal style to evolve into something you're really happy with. It might take some experimentation with cuts and styling before you hit on what works for you. When I started to embrace my natural wave, it took me a good couple of years before I figured out what worked with my hair. Hopefully it won't take so long for you. :)</p> <p>When I wore my hair short, I needed a trim every four weeks, so yes, upkeep is definitely something that has to be a priority. Short cuts can lose their shape quickly.</p> <p>As for the bangs...that's a toughie! Since you've already had maybe six weeks (?) of time to grow them, I would probably recommend continuing on that road and growing them longer so you can tuck them behind your ear. Maybe look at hairstyle pics online to get an idea of what an overall cut could be for that look, and take them in to your hairdresser when you get your trim. If you don't like the look once your bangs are grown out, you can always cut to a very short fringe at that point. To get this look I do have to blow dry, especially the front bang there. I actually have a cowlick there! But I've "trained" it over the years to lay like it does, side-swept across the forehead. (AKA beating it into submission with a blow dryer and sometimes a flat iron...)</p> <p>If you prefer to air dry, I'm thinking keep it shorter as it'll be so much easier and the fringe won't be driving you nuts! I have had a pixie in the past and loved the wash and go benefit.</p> <p>I agree your face is more oval than square. Mine is round, which means my forehead isn't that high, so I prefer the long bangs side parted on me. I also like that it kinda cuts my cheek area (the widest part of my face) in half when it's longer and untucked. You have a nice oval shape and look good with your forehead showing as I think it balances out your face well.
