Mine is actually shorter than Angie's. (I use a number 2 clipper guard in the back and sides of my hair!) but aside from that one thing I have found to be true is if you like the way you look in a ponytail or a twist then you will love having short hair. Both styles show off your face shape and draw attention to your neck and shoulders. So since you say that you are in a ponytail 99% of the time any way, IMO I say go for the cut you really want.
