Also, I liked a side-swept bang and it did not bother me as long as it was graduated well. It took some of the weight off my head and made things easier to manage. It's reminiscent of the 40s, too, which suits your style.&nbsp;</p> <p>One issue to consider if you still want to be able to wear your hair up and back -- find out where your back hairline is. Mine is quite low which means my hair has to be quite long to go into a ponytail. Have you ever had the ends razored? That can add some natural movement to longer layered hair without much work on your part at all. But you can still style it sleek if you prefer. As for bangs, I usually split the difference by asking for angled, long bangs. What&nbsp;I don't know is if losing the weight of your hair will make it harder to control. DD#1 has thick hair that doesn't seem wavy until she gets it layered and then it takes an effort to get it to lay straight.
