I don't currently have a good stylist but I got a recommendation from a friend, whose hair is always well-styled so I will give her stylist a try. If my hair looks as good as Maya's for the first trim I will be very happy. I can be patient for a couple of months because I think this haircut will really work for me eventually. </p> <p>As for highlights - I may give it a try if I can save up for it for a couple of months. </p> <p>Angie - I haven't used a flat iron before but I'm not opposed to the idea. The interior is heavily layered as well, but *longer* layers on the bottom, and also angled starting* below* the jaw. This look is very easy for you to achieve within a short period of time. </p> <p>Bring this photo to your stylist...have her KEEP your length and work on the interior layers ONLY to create this style. I don't think I looked like I had a mullet :p The reason I cut it was because it was really difficult for me to keep it looking that sleek and pretty. It would usually end up looking messy and tangled, so I don't know if posting a picture of me with it would serve as good inspiration. My shortest layer hit at the top of my ear, but it wasn't like you could see it. It just took the bulk out and kept it from getting too heavy at the ends. It was more about keeping a nice sleek shape and keeping it from weighing itself down than about creating texture or anything like that. I didn't want to do the bangs though, but the rest of it is pretty much the same.
