It looks great on you! My stylist is always trying to talk me into covering my grays(which have really been multiplying quickly!) But I just love the freedom of not going to the salon. I like to think it's my little rebellion. What's funny is my mom isn't gray (because she colors), but I have lots of gray "highlights!" I truly believe that gray doesn't age you if your haircut and personal style are current, and you have such great style!

Anchie, your hair is lovely too. You ladies are great inspiration for me!

It's coming along really nicely Una! I wonder where the red is from? Perhaps a remnant of color stripping for the blue, if that was necessary. I kind of love the dip-dyed look with the black ends

Absolutely gorgeous hair. Both cut and color. It suits you very well and does not look aging in my book. But I may be biased because I started the same journey about 3 years ago. My experience was very positive. Lot of compliments and encouraging comments. Well, except one colleague who openly told me that he liked my hair better before and when will I start coloring again. But I can not imagine going back, it is so freeing and my hair is much healthier now.

Just this morning, someone I haven't seen in a long time said "oh, you've highlighted your hair! It looks great!" No highlights other than my greys, which are growing in in nice streaks. I use a purple shampoo from John Frieda and once a month I use the John Frieda purplish glaze (intended for light blonde hair) and it's shiny and smooth. It took me a long time to get used to how it looks, maybe four years since I last colored it all over (I used a brunette glaze for awhile because I felt washed out until I got used to it). I think your hair looks great. I'd love to see your cut when you aren't dipping your chin.

Your hair looks amazing, Una. I don't think it's aging at all, probably because you have such a chic style.

I am not ready to stop coloring yet but several months ago I talked to my stylist about going more ash blonde. So he added a lot more platinum highlights so that they would be closer to the whites/greys that are becoming more plentiful.

I agree that your hair is gorgeous right now and it works well with your style. I'm in the process as well, and it is a pain. If I knew then what I know now, I would have never colored it.

I don't think gray hair is necessarily aging--the hairstyle is important too. If a woman has a dated or "I've given up" hairstyle, she's going to look older whether she dyes it or not.

Speaking of hair color, I noticed quite a few older men with dyed hair in Paris. It generally doesn't look good--all one color, flat. They should leave a bit of gray at the temples.

I love your grey!

I went grey a couple years ago. Most people my age don't have such white hair (my stylist calls it platinum). As a result, some people think I'm older than I am, but look young for the age they think I am. I'm finding old men (approaching my father's age) trying to engage me in conversation when that never happened before.

Denise, not a lot of comments on the color, but people often compliment the cut. I'm trying to assess how I feel about it, and what I think people are thinking when they see me now. Like, am I becoming more invisible? Gaining or losing anything intangible? I'd love to hear from those of you who made this transition and what people said. It's not as striking a change as I expected, but that was my idea - to do it before it was too much of a shock. Please be honest if you see it in my WIWs and think it's really aging me. I don't mind looking my age but I don't want to look older than my age.

It looks fantastic!

I'm so terrified of the day when I finally give in to the greys. I don't really like the idea of a pixie cut for me (another small head person here who feels self-conscious with short hair), so I don't know how the heck I'll deal with it when the time comes, especially with my wavy/curly hair. I so envy sleek straight hair this time of year, when the humidity renders mine a frizzy mop!
