Thanks for the information Diana. I checked and I do not see it listed on the Marc Anthony sulphate free shampoo.

For the record the ingredient I Have problems with is sarcosinate (sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is the one in most sulfate free shampoos but I avoid everything that has sarcosinate in the name). I've no idea if that's your trigger but just thought I'd put it out there for you.

Thanks annagybe .. I appreciate the link.

Diana - I too got contact dermatitis from the sulphate free shampoo I bought.
I used to be able to use any shampoo and conditioner on my hair and never had to worry about getting contact dermatitis before. I know the older I get the more allergies are popping up.
I washed my hair for the first time since having it highlighted last night. Since I had already purchased the L'Oreal Elvive shampoo and conditioner for colour treated hair with UV protectant this past weekend. I decided to give it a try. I let my hair air dry last night and will be styling it later this morning to see how it works.

I do plan on getting the mouse she used in my hair at the salon. It was Joico whip mousse. Has anyone tried it?

Since you mentioned that you had problems with a sulfate free shampoo you might want to be careful with them in the future esp if you've also had problems with things like face wash. I get contact dermatitis from one of the common sulfate replacements which is also used in many foaming products so I'm sticking to good old sulfate shampoo.

Crutcher — I wish I could find myself a wonderful hat but I have a bog head and any hat I tried on sadly did not fit this noggin of mine.
I wish you could send the shampoo and conditioner to me as well.
I will have to check out the aveda line.

Elle - I used to use John Freida’s products a while back now, I have not ever tiried the Frizz Ease.
I like you only wash my hair a couple times a week. I used to wash it almost everyday when I was younger.
I find some shampoos harsh on my scalp.

Diana - The biology conditioning cream does sound very promising. I have not tried a Moroccan oil conditioner. I have Morroccan oil that I rub on my fingertips and then run my hands though my hair in the morning and then again at night.

annagybe = I have not heard of the L’Oreal Ever line. I did buy a Marc Anthony morrrocan oil shampoo that is sulphate free. My poor hair and scalp did not like that one. I am going to look and see if it is available here at our drugstores.

I did buy L’oreal Elvive shampoo and conditioner with a uv protector this past weekend but have not tried either yet.

Thanks for all the suggestions, keep them coming.

L'Oreal Ever line...available at the drugstore. Heck even Safeway carries it.They have a curly hair version. I use the color version.
I find it just as good if not better than salon stuff. Plus silicone free.

I have used the Biolage conditioner and I like it, but my hair is thick and straight. I'm currently using the Biolage conditioning cream which is a lot richer, so you might like it better. I also use Moroccan Oil hydrating conditioner.

I will admit that I tend to go cheap on the shampoo, and expensive on the conditioner. I have found that fancy shampoos don't seem to be much better and in fact they often leave too much residue/don't clean my scalp well. I've had some issues with fancypants shampoos causing my scalp to flake too, (always seems to be the shampoo and not conditioner) and honestly I seem to do the best with clear, clarifying shampoos. I currently use Pantene's Ice Shine. I know clarifying shampoos are supposed to be harsh on your hair, but honestly I like them even though I really have no need for "clarifying" since I don't use product on my hair ever.

ETA: I wash every 2-3 days. I think my hair wouldn't mind going longer between washes but my scalp gets too icky after 3 days.

I have curly hair and occasionally use John Frieda Frizz Ease. But the best advice I've gotten is to wash/condition my hair less often. The way it was told to me is that the chemicals in shampoo are hard on your scalp It works for me - my hair looks and feels much better.

But everyone is different so you may just have to experiment

When I walk, or go outside, I have a wonderful hat that I wear...You want to always have sun protection on your hair...
I tried the Matrix Biolage in both shampoo and conditioner and it dried my hair out...Wish I could send it to you...
I now use Be Curly shampoo Aveda and Damage Remedy conditioner also Aveda...I tried the DR shampoo and it was too heavy...
I guess I would say just keep experimenting until you find the combination that works...
(I have thick curly hair shoulder length that can resemble a Brillo pad if I am not careful...smile...)

Looking for some hair care product recommendations.

Do any fellow fabbers have highlighted hair?

What shampoo and conditioner do you use? Do you moisturize your hair and if so what product do you use?

I do a lot of walking in the summer so with that in mind I am looking to see if any other fellow fabbers have a UV protectant they use and love.

Has anyone here used the Joico Whip Mousse?

At my local drug store, the cosmetician recommended Matrix Biolage for Color treated hair.(that is in my last picture)

I have natural wavy/curly hair so humidity is not my best friend.

I have attached a couple of pictures of my mop of hair. The first one was when my hair was still wet in the back at the salon. The other two DH took for me. The lighting is not the best. When I walk I wear my hair up :)

Thanks in advance
