I feel that the length of my hair now is drawing more attention to my chin and making feel like I look older. I like the way my hair behaves when it's longer--it curls more consistently--and I enjoy the feel of it longer. And when I'm not looking at pictures, but just looking in the mirror, I feel like my looks are more toward "pretty" and less toward "striking." As someone who has rarely been mistaken for pretty, that is a welcome feeling. </p> <p><b>Una</b>, the idea of a streak of color is intriguing. I really like the color you did with yours. I'll have to ask my stylist whether she thinks it would work with my texture. (I fear that amid my waves, it might just look like I spilled something in my hair!)</p> <p><b>Murph</b>--there you are! Here are a few photos, cropped from my WIWs over the last few years, to compare:<br />1-2: Feb 2012, short stacked bob<br />3-4: March 2013: somewhat longer short stacked bob&nbsp; <br />5-6: Aug 2013: longer short stacked bob<br />7-8: Aug 2014: short stacked bob with bangs</p> <p>On good days, I really liked this style. On bad days, I thought it looked like a pile of hair plopped on a long face. The idea of growing my hair out was to bring the focal point down, to frame my face--which I think has happened. With bangs, on good days, I loved it. On bad days, I felt like a revival of the worst of the 70s suburban bouffant styles. </p> <p>Looking at my photos, though, it seems my hair might do the shorter cuts with long tops. I may discuss bangs with my stylist, too.
