Then social attitudes were swayed when men had to work long hours in the factories and the use of heels was not practical and the so-called enlightened ones thought that high heels were unusable for the regular attire of that era. So wearing high heels by anyone&nbsp;went underground.&nbsp;When photography revealed some scantily clad women wearing heels&nbsp;in pictures came into the public awareness, the practice was at least noted.&nbsp;Meanwhile, an American, brothel proprietor (Madam Kathy), noted that business boomed after a French woman who wore high heels was hired. So she ordered heels for all&nbsp;female employees. The patrons took notice and ordered the same French heels for their wives. The subsequent happenings led&nbsp;society to proclaim women were the only ones that wanted to wear heels, but&nbsp;then&nbsp;men were&nbsp;noticed or caught&nbsp;expressing&nbsp;the desire to accent their appearance with heels. People, familiar only with the present fashion attitude, were surprised and then enraged to think men wanted to wear women's footwear. So guys in high heels have to deal with the perception that they are women wannabes&nbsp;and have defiled their manhood. Personally, I have only considered high heels as another type of footwear to be chosen like any other item of apparel. Nature set up individuality to function in this manner. We are to choose our attire by the personality taste we have, but society has usurped this right and has dictated its will as to what a person should adorn with. I know a couple of men who can rock stilettos and dance in them. I'm in awe of them. For myself i like a very chunky heel. He sometimes wore a kilt to work. Kind of badass in a very good way. He didn't wear it when there was a chance he would be in the rafters rigging the stuff that hangs in the air during a concert, thank heaven, but nobody ever said anything untoward about it. I haven't seen him in a few years (I had to retire from the business for health reasons) but I bet he still wears it regularly.
