I know pleather gives me blisters, so let me buy leather shoes--oops, wait, we're going to put pleather in the blister-making place of the shoes. Facepalm. (My favorite pair of BR flats have a synthetic-lined footbed, but the upper isn't lined so it's just the back of the woven leather upper. Initially I was like, hrm, blister city with the woven texture but they've been a dream. I found myself getting pretty crotchety this spring trying on tons of sandals and shoes and wrinkling my nose at lots of strong, chemically synthetic smells from them. It's one of the reasons I have gradually been moving to more expensive shoes (gulp ~ or at least more assiduously hunting for said shoes at a discount) and rationalized it that not only were they more comfortable on the foot, they smelled good and didn't repel me.
