I use a foot file (more effective than pumice) in the shower at least once a week and slather on the Lubriderm.

I get dry and cracked-enough-to-bleed feet in the winter, and I beat them up by dancing barefoot regularly. I keep 'em happy with a pumice stone, palmer's foot cream, and socks every night. I've found that it takes a good couple of weeks to start looking nice if I let it go.

I think regular maintenance is the key. I slather (and I do mean slather) Glysomed cream on my feet after every shower and then walk around with sock peds on my feet for half an hour until the lotion is absorbed. The peds are easy to throw in the washer when I wash towels.

I also spent a few bucks on a really good set of Tweezerman pedicure implements that include a rasp, pumice stone, and clippers. Once a week, I use these on my feet before I slather on the cream.

When I go for my pedicures, the girl is always amazed at the condition of my feet, especially since I'm in my 60s. Honestly, I don't think there are any miracle products out there, but I'm convinced that paying attention to your feet every day is the key to keeping the skin soft and supple.

I use Heel Rescue on my feet and legs after every shower. I get it at Rite Aid.It works great and has no fragrance.

I just read this from Sali Hughes in the Guardian Uk. I like her because she's incredibly persnickety about products. Sounds weird but for what it's worth
Footner Exfoliating Socks, £19.99, boots.com

These
are brilliant. Wear the socks (basically gel-filled sandwich bags) for
an hour, remove and rinse. A few days later, in the most grotesque and
satisfying manner, all the dead, coarse, calloused skin will peel off in
large pieces, revealing soft, young-looking feet. No need to file,
scrub or go under the chiropodist's knife. I use them every month or
two, especially in sandals weather

Lol, when I worked for the podiatrist I used a dremel type sander on people's toes and feet! Yes, it works! A pumice in the shower is what I use on my own though. Wearing socks helps, and using creams that contain urea.

If the backs and bottoms of my heels get dry, thick and cracked I use...(and I am not kidding) a dremel type sander on them.

How do you groom them and keep them that way? My feet are always dry whatever the season. I have tried the trick of slathering them with Vaseline and wearing socks to bed but it didn't help.
