First off, you look like you stepped out of a LL Bean catalog! In the best way.
In terms of the career day, I think if you switched out your sweater for a blazer, you would probably be fine. I also like Isabel's comment about dressing like you would at work.

I agree with Angie on everything!
You're kind of like a messenger from the Land Ahead for these kids and I think you'd be doing them a favor if you dressed pretty much the way you'd dress to go to work. You can raise the outfit volume a little just the way I imagine you would if you were speaking to a group of your fellow employed but they're going to absorbing not just what you say but what they see.
I'm guessing from your photos that you're pretty good at poised professional, show them how it's done.

Your outfit is beautiful! Does your 16 year old go to the same or similar school? That is who I would ask!

Gorgeous outfit on you, and what a great backdrop with the snow. The light blue is lovely with your hair.

I think you could go either way with the careers day. First, think about how teachers dress at the school. It might be good to go with a version of their "uniform." (Different schools have very different dress cultures. At my daughter's school, smart casual would be a good compromise -- i.e. not jeans, but not a super dressy outfit.)

Your outfit is so fresh and pretty in the snow! I don't have any actionable advice for Career Day. However, many decades later, I still remember the presentation I attended....from an FBI agent:). So, no pressure, but perhaps focus on what a helpful event this may be for some of the attendees.

The light blue makes the outfit. You look great. A fresh and pretty palette, especially in the dead of Winter.

I'll be interested to hear what the others have to say, but I would guess that looking more professional is probably a good idea when you present to the teens at school. That way you look less like them, and more like an authority figure.

SO approve of that clip. The Office is right up there with Seinfeld in my book. Best comedies of all time.

Been on a photo and posting hiatus due to work travel and company changes. Having some challenges wrapping my head around being part of a company that has 250,000 employees, after being one of 150 for the past 10 years. Trying to remain open and positive. There are definitely interesting aspects to the event.

This outfit is most inspired by Angie's recent Casual Light Grey and White ensemble. I picked up this scarf at Gap as I have very little light blue. I love it! I was set for more grey than taupe this morning, but it kind of evolved into this. It was way (way way) too cold to make adjustments to the camera, I just got out there and shot for 10 minutes straight. Would have adjusted my shutter to a slightly faster speed if I'd stopped to take a look, these are a little washed; the color could have popped even more.

Wearing:
Pants: Chicos
Coats : White/ Lucy; Grey/ Topshop
Sweater, purse and denim shirt: BR
Boots: Clarks
Scarf: Gap

I need some advice: Friday I am speaking to 5 classes of high school students as part of Career Day. I will be talking about high tech, software sales and the importance of STEM education. What should I wear? Something like today's outfit, approachable to the kids? Or something more professional that I might wear to a meeting as a software salesperson?

Also, any advice about facing down 16-18 year olds and keeping them interested would be great. I'm fairly terrified! I plan to open with this clip from The Office, approved by my 16 year old. All of the other sales, or high-tech related TV or movie clips I could think of (Glengarry Glen Ross, Silicon Valley) are full of profanity!

Hope everyone is doing as great as you are looking!
