I only shampoo twice a week (and sometimes use a general-use shampoo) then use a leave-in conditioner every day. (I wet my hair even when I don't wash.) the conditioner really makes a big difference . I have not tried any bluing products but my DMIL with the most gorgeous pile of white hair always used Fanciful blue. It is a liquid applied after washing your hair, very inexpensive, and was sold at Walgreens and Walmart.
