I, too, have been moving away from always wearing black shoes. I've discovered that it really is true that shoes in greys, taupes, and a sort of taupe-y brown work surprisingly well as neutrals. Many, many times this fall I have been delighted with how non-black footwear changes my outfit. I have 2 nice pair of black work shoes (pics 2 and 3), but have found a lovely pair of shoes with a little higher heels - in black AND in grey. Which will I buy? The grey aligns with the new neutrals I am moving towards and goes with many of my work clothes. Black is black and 'goes with everything'. I have fussy feet so finding TWO pairs is a miracle...
