I agree with Judy; the Beales' story was riveting and heartbreaking. </p> <p>On a superficial note, I really loved Drew Barrymore's makeup when she played the younger Edie and have been wondering how to duplicate the look myself. Last night I was watching "The Beales of Grey Garden's". The scene with the fire still terrifies me. The house itself is such an integral character. It's like a car accident that you cannot look away from. I too find it disturbing and haunting, yet riveting. I keep watching thinking that I'll find the missing piece of the puzzle. My favorite in the HBO movie was Jessica Lange--brilliant. And my favorite scene from the original--STAUNCH character. Seeing it again after watching the HBO version...Drew was brilliant as Little Edie...I wasn't so shocked as the first time. It's fascinating. It's easy to get obsessed. I can't help but think that Little Edie would be very pleased that she's become a style icon. There's actually another documentary now too, "The Beales of Grey Garden's" with footage that wasn't in the original "Grey Garden's". I watched them all. There are clips on YouTube, too. This one must have been remastered because the sound is so much better than the orginal.
