Then I guess I'm a purist too Angie. I've never mixed my metals in the past;-)

I can't seem to make up my mind here though, it's all the fault of that bag, for being so lovely;-)
But when I think about wearing it with the dark rose S&K jacket e.g. something about the copper is bothering me.

Maybe that's my answer... Let the search for a grey bag continue...

I actually love the bag with the brass hardware, Inge. It really depends on your personal preference for mixing metals. It’s absolutely stylish to do so – some even prefer the look of mixing metals. But if you are a purest like me, you’ll stick to one metal for EVERYTHING. Because I do not wear gold or copper, I would not have purchased the bag. What’s your preference for mixing metals?

Thanks for weighing in everybody!

Bella: the last bag isn't felt actually, but made of some sort of mysterious recycled materials;-)
I'd be curious to see how how it feels to the touch.

Laura, Shiny and Loulou: I agree, it all depends on the shade of grey. But I think these could all work for me.

Kendra: you are one step ahead of me with your grey bag!-) Since I never wear gold-coloured jewellery, I'd be a little concerned about the gold hardware.

Angie: Exactly, that's the one thing that's holding me back too. As far as I can tell, it's more coppery and brass than a true yellow gold colour. But I'm not convinced. I get the impression that neither are you?

Inge:
I recently bought a grey bag. I think grey makes the perfect neutral to go with spring brights.

Here's my new bag. Not your taste I am sure, but I have loved the color!

Hmmm. Decisions, decisions. With your height, you would look killer in the Joyce. At the same time, it's not going to be easy to wear open (i.e. unzipped) because of the belt feature. Does it bother you to always have to close the jacket? With my leather moto jacket, I usually have it unzipped, but that is less of an outerwear item than these jackets are. You might need to order them and try them on to see how they feel. Either way, the color is fantastic! You have superb taste.

I do wear both gold and silver - mainly silver, but I have a short attention span and so I am happy to mix things up

Gorgeous jackets, both of them!
I agree that the shade of gray makes a difference. On the other hand, the third bag is made of felt and that is a very winter material to me. Even thinking about carrying a felt bag in the summer makes me itchy!

Aaaah thank you Laura! I can't stop thinking about them;-)
Completely off-topic now: do you think I should get the Suki or the Joyce. I already have a taupe short leather bomber and recently bought that cream pleather jacket. The Joyce looks playful and sophisticated at the same time, and I really love it, but I'm scared of the belt;-)

To answer your question: apparently there aren't any stores in Belgium that carry M&N. Bummer.

By the way: it's a deal! We WILL have our shopping day with lots of book talk!
And thank you for your sweet offer. The necklace is gorgeous. Unfortunately gold jewellery doesn't look good on me. Are you one of those lucky gals that can wear both silver and gold?

Great advice Shiny! My closet is not really full of bright colours (more dusty shades), although I have been adding more pops of colour lately (like a very vibrant blue and a brightish green).

And, I'm seriously considering one of these leather jackets in dark rose (very adventurous for me;-)

Shiny makes a very good point that the shade of grey will make a big difference in its wearability for spring/summer. I wouldn't hesitate to carry that third M & N bag in the summer! It would be soooo helpful to see it in person. Do any stores near you carry it, Inge? (and p.s. we do need to go shopping together - some day. And we can talk and talk and talk about books over coffee!).

What is up with Bluefly and that sweater?? They need to discount that and move it out ASAP!!

Here's the necklace. It's the "slate" color. It's really interesting because it combines grey and gold, which makes it look modern. If you want one I can help you out :)

For spring - definetly. I think grey is a fantastic color for the transitional months, particularly because it looks so good with white or cream. By transitional months, I mean those when it's still cool enough outside you might feel funny wearing bright colors, but not cold enough to want to wear darker, wintery colors. Does that make sense? Lately that has been my craving. Spring is in the air, so it doesn't seem right to wear black and deeper jewel tones. Yet, it's still not warm enough for turquoise and pinks and other brights.

For summer? I would still wear grey but with pops of bright colors like turquoise and pink. But I would look for a grey bag that is more of a blueish grey or is lighter - these look a bit charcoal to me. Something like this (for color only):

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/48585586/c/4854.html

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/48595082/c/401.html

The third one you link to is more around the light-grey shade. The other two are a tad more fall/winter to me.

If you tend to wear bright colors on your clothes and shoes, then a more neutral bag like this would be wise to own.

My favorite bag for spring/summer is my cream one, but it's not practical if I'm wearing a cream coat. If I didn't own so many grey tops, a grey bag would be a good option.

Grey is so perfect for spring/summer. We are style twins again, Inge, because just this morning I was wishing I had a grey bag for my outfit today (white jacket, grey cowl, white cami, dark skinnies, yellow flats, grey long necklace). I am carrying an oversized fake snakeskin clutch which isn't the best for day!

I love the felt version of the M & N bag (the third option you listed). That's so unusual, and the texture is interesting. I wonder how it would wear?

Hi everyone

Do you think (lighter) grey bags like the ones below are suitable for Spring and Summer?
